NoIncreasein Antibodies to Six Patients with IgA Food Antigens in Japanese Nephropathy

چکیده
It has been postulated that mucosa-related antigens are involved in the development of IgA nephropathy. The aim of this study was to elucidate whether food antigens have any relation to IgA nephropathy in Japan. Sera from I5 patients with IgA ncphropathy and 15 healthy controls were examined using an enzyme linked immunosorbent assay {ELISA), IgG, IgA, and IgM antibedy titers were measured against six food-deriyed antigens, i,e. rice, soy bean paste, soy sauce, egg yolk, egg white and gluten, all of which are frequently found in the oTdinary japanese diet. No significant differences between patients and controls were found. It was concluded that food antigens appear to have little, if any, relation to IgA nephropathy,

Clinical, Histopathological and Immunofluorescent Findings of IgA Nephropathy
Background: IgA nephropathy, a prevalent disease in Asia, is considered the main cause of end stage renal disease among primary glomerular disease. Objective: To determine the frequency of different clinical, histopathological and immunofluorescent characteristics of IgA nephropathy. Methods: Renal biopsies of 376 patients were received for immunofluorescent and for histopathological studies. B...
متن کاملDo IgA antigliadin and IgA antiendomysium antibodies show there is latent coeliac disease in primary IgA nephropathy?
The finding in primary IgA nephropathy of increased levels of IgA to food antigens and particularly to gliadin prompted the hypothesis that a subgroup of these patients may have latent coeliac disease. The observation that gliadin may experimentally induce IgA mesangial deposits supported this hypothesis. We evaluated specific immunological markers of coeliac disease (antiendomysium antibodies)...
متن کاملشیوع نفروپاتی IgA در بیماران مبتلا به گلومرولونفریت اولیه
During a 14-month period (Dec. 1990-Jan. 1992) , renal biopsies were performed on 105 patients with suspected glomerular disease. All specimens were processed for light microscopy (L.M) and immunoflourescence. Work-up revealed 21 patients to suffer a systemic glomerular disease and glomerular disease was found to be primery in 85 cases. Predominant IgG deposition was noted in 71 cases with prim...
متن کاملA case report: a patient with IgA nephropathy and coeliac disease. Complete clinical remission following gluten-free diet
IgA nephropathy (IgAN) presents usually as a primary disease. However, secondary forms of IgAN have been described, most commonly associated with liver disease [1]. The presence of high levels of IgA against food antigens including gliadin and IgG and IgA antiendomysial antibodies in some patients with IgAN has raised the possibility of a pathophysiological link between IgAN and coeliac disease...
متن کاملInvolvement of bacterial antigens in immunoglobulin A nephropathy.
To investigate the involvement of bacterial antigens in Immunoglobulin A (IgA) nephropathy, we measured IgA, IgG and IgM antibodies to gram-negative Escherichia coli (E.coli) and Haemophilus influenzae (H.influenzae) by ELISA in 24 patients (11 males and 13 females) with IgA nephropathy and 22 normal controls (11 males and 11 females). The titers of IgA and IgM antibodies for E.coli and H.influ...
